30m utility vessel ‘Pacific Conquest’ has returned to Gladstone following her recent charter in support of the global tourism campaign promoting the Great Barrier Reef – ‘scUber’.
She was the support platform for the 31 day expedition which started on Heron Island, off the coast of Gladstone, before moving to Agincourt Reef off the coast of Port Douglas in Cairns. Our Client Aquatica Submarine’s technical support crew were comfortably accommodated for the duration of this campaign, with the ‘Pacific Conquest’ able to provide both Aquatica and East Coast Maritime crew with all of the creature comforts as a home away from home.
The high-clearance A-frame was used to facilitate the safe launch and retrieval of the submarine at dive sites, and custom additions to the vessel were fabricated by East Coast Maritime specifically for this project.
We’ve included some of our favourite ‘scUber’ moments below. If you want to see more, follow this link for a preview of footage captured by Aquatica Submarines.
